Baroque Travel

A travel society for those who travel often, and travel well.

By introduction or thoughtful application.

Our origin

Baroque Travel was founded on a simple observation: the best travel happens in conversation, not in catalogues.

We started in 2018, quietly, with a small handful of travellers who were tired of the trade-off between the convenience of booking sites and the warmth of a real relationship with a counselor who knew their preferences, their families, and the season-by-season rhythm of their travels.

Today Baroque Travel is a private members' society. We accept a small number of new members each year, and we grow only through introduction or thoughtful application. Every relationship is personal. Every counselor knows every member by name.

Our approach

Considered, not exhaustive. Curated, not algorithmic. Quiet, not loud.

We work with a select list of properties around the world — hotels, lodges, villas, ryokans, riads, castles, and the occasional houseboat — chosen by our editorial team after personal visits. We do not list every property we are asked to; we list only those we would recommend to a friend.

The same goes for experiences. A private archaeologist tour in Petra, a sushi master in Tokyo, a photographic safari in Botswana — each chosen because we have done it ourselves, or because someone we trust has.

Our travel counselors are not booking agents. They are people who care about the difference between the right room and the wrong room, the right season and the wrong season, the right dinner table and the wrong one. They remember the details that matter to you.

Membership

Two tiers

Baroque and Noir. We share details quietly during application. There are no public price lists.

Discretion

Your travel is private. Pseudonyms when you wish. No social media, no press, no public references unless you ask.

Editorial

The Baroque Review is our magazine. Members and the public both read it. It is how we share what we are seeing in the world.

Partners

A network of properties, experience creators, and travel professionals around the world. We do not publish a partner list.

Privacy

We hold member data the way a friend would hold a confidence: carefully, with intent, only as long as it is useful. Your travel is yours. Our team will never sell, syndicate, or publish anything about your journeys without your written permission.

The full text of our privacy commitments lives in the privacy policy — but the short version is: we treat your travel as we'd want our own treated.
